Making the base and the upstairs floor.

It took me two weeks to get where I am now: the two floors are finished and I am busy decorating the inside walls. I covered the base with air dry clay (DAS) and scored it, so it looks like it is tiled. It was difficult to get the clay even and after a few mishaps with the rolling pin I used the pasta machine and this worked. The base warped (did not think of sealing it first) but I managed to get it almost even again by sticking it under some books for a few days. Coloring the base was not easy, I used several colors and I am not totally pleased with the result. Making floor boards with paper on the other hand, was really fun to do and I am very pleased with the result of that.

    Dit is wel handig....ik kan bij jou mooi volgen hoe het gaat met dit huisje en tegen welke problemen je oploopt en als wij dan met onze huisjes beginnen hebben we al een hele voorsprong LOL
    Onze huisjes zijn besteld....nu geduldig wachten tot ze er zijn...grrrrrr ;-)
    je vloertjes zien er mooi uit, leuk hè, van papier een vloertje maken? ik heb in E-beertje's huis (1:24) van dun karton vloertjes gemaakt!!! Ook erg leuk!

    Ja, dat vloertje was echt heel erg leuk om te doen en het ziet er zo echt uit. Ik hoop dat jullie huisjes er snel zijn, jullie halen mij denk ik wel in :-) Welke hebben jullie besteld?

    We hebben de Cornershop, de Yuletide shop, de Candlewick, de Flowerpot, de Toadstool en het winkeltje met losse bovenkant besteld!

    Dank je wel Elly, ik heb de binnenmuren vandaag gemaakt en dat was ook leuk om te doen (ligt nu te drogen).

    Jeetje Margriet, wat leuk - allemaal verschillende. Yuletide en Candlewick zijn wel iets makkelijker te maken dan de andere vier, heb ik gelezen (een heleboel is daar al voorgesneden) maar ik vind ze allemaal mooi!

    we zijn met z'n 8-en, dus we hebben een paar dubbel besteld en ik heb 2 besteld (oooh, erg hè!? ;-))de Yuletide en de Candlewick!

    Hi Caroline, the wooden floor is made from paper. You just cut up strips to make floor boards, glue them to the MDF and than paint (black, brown and a touch of white).
